Have you tried changing the picture signal in the TV setting? Maybe you just have to change the image signal manually.
That's not what I tried. The picture sometimes also shows strange "flickering stripes" that run vertically.
Didn't you connect white, red, yellow cables with an adapter to the Gamecube Console?
