I've wanted to play Minecraft together with my friends for a long time, but they have Minecraft on the PC and I on the Switch, and they said I should have Minecraft Bedrock or something, but I don't know where I see what kind of Minecraft I so to speak have. I downloaded Minecraft on my Switch from the Nintendo eshop. One of my friends also said that you could see it on the packaging, but I don't have one because I downloaded it. How do I see that now?
Your friends have the java version and would have to buy the Bedrock. You can't buy the Java version. If your friends have had the Java version for several years they can download the Bedrock for free, if not it costs 30 euro
The Java is only available on the PC. Nintendo Switch, Ps4, and straight from the windows store is bedrock. You can buy the Java online on the Mojang site for around 23 euro and create an account
