I'm a huge The Walking Dead fan and I would love to (legally) watch the new episodes and spin offs. This is where I came across Amazon Prime Video. Since there's a student discount, I would really like to complete the Abitur, but I don't know exactly how APV works - I've often heard that, although you have a paid subscription, you can still only rent for series and films online and again extra have to pay. How does it work now? I've heard I got some benefits from it on Twitch, but I'm not sure. In addition, I would like to know whether the principle (not the selection!) Is too different from Netflix, or whether the choice of provider really only differs in terms of content.
I also have a prime student for six months free of charge and then only 5 euro a month and yes you have to borrow some films that usually cost 4 euro for series, always per season or episode. But there are many good free series such as Nos4a2 or Lucifer. In any case, the selection is at least as good as on Netflix, at least there are those that you (I) always want to see but do not exist on Netflix (my opinion). I would recommend it
To be honest, I would only get prime video for the reasons mentioned above (TWD, Twitch Prime) and just wanted to ask if there are any additional costs
At Amazon Prime Video there are different ways to watch films and series for different prices.
The content can be borrowed or bought without any subscription. Depending on the license available, one of them may not be available.
With Amazon Prime you can watch selected films and series for free. The number of contents is not very large. You can browse the content even without a subscription. This content is marked as "included in Prime".
Furthermore, there are channels in Prime Video, which are another subscription. These are theme-based and enable further content.
The student version of Amazon Prime is not a full Amazon Prime, by the way. A couple of areas are missing. The free premium shipping, Prime Video or Twitch Prime are included, but e.g. Prime Music is missing.
