Just get a Series S next year. Buy the game and it's good. I'm not a PS fan either (mainly because the hardware looks inferior, but that's just my opinion!) And still I'll get a PS5 when it's finally available.

You probably didn't understand the Game Awards (Awards not Award → Plural).

There's no game that is THE game of the year, because there are still games that pursue different concepts and are structured differently.

Otherwise it would be unfair to say that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is the best looking game in 2020 and just because it would be the game of the year.
