Are bees spawned in my minecraft world?

I have been playing a survival single player world on my Nintendo Switch for a long time. When I heard the bees coming I was really excited.

I later searched for nests but didn't find any.

My question is whether the bees will be spawned in the world if the world was created before the update

They will usually only spawn in areas that you have not explored at the time of the update.

The bees will only appear in areas of the map where you have never been before.
