Is it synonymous with a new 3/2 there?
Or do I need an extra firmware (FBI homebrew) or something for that?

The card is for all Nintendo DS modules (DS, DSi, 3DS / XL, 2DS etc…) And not for Switch, Wii you or similar. You can only play ROME from Nintendo DS Games on the map. You download them on the Internet (hold the game you want) and move these folders or the game into the MicroSD card (stop everything on the computer!) Which you then put into the R4 card.
