Sims 4 pets?

I bought the game Sims 4 for the Playstation 4 and I would also like to have a pet in the game, but I haven't found anything helpful about it on the Internet. Do you have to buy Dan a pet package or something and who, where do I get it from and how do I activate it in the game.

You have to buy the pet game pack with it.

If you want pets, you need the cats and dogs expansion pack. That only brings a hundred and cats into play, but it's still pretty cool.
