I have the following problem: My HP laptop has a hotspot function in which it sets up its own network and thus enables other devices to connect to the Internet.
Since the internet in my room is too bad (LAN cable, DLAN or WLAN repeater are being planned), I have always played the hotspot of the laptop on the PS4 for the past month. That went amazingly well, the ping was always between 15-30 ms.
The connection has suddenly deteriorated for a few days (no packet loss, but constant 150ms ping). The quality of my WLAN is still the same. What could that be?
A WLAN network can get worse if there are overlaps with other WLAN networks on the same frequency or neighboring frequencies. Where several houses or apartments collide, it is often the case that someone else changes their frequency or has the factory settings after a power failure. Then you have to switch to another frequency with your own WLAN. For example, there are apps for Android that show the frequency allocation (such as Wi-Fi Network Analyzer Pro).
