I always have the compulsion that new devices that I buy could be broken.
I've already exchanged the laptop 5 times because I imagined that the fan sounds strange and three times the playstation 4 … Also the fan.
I then spend hours trying to figure out how the fan sounds correctly or I stand in front of the device for hours and listen.
How do I get that away?
Soon I will probably get. Ne playstation 5 and I'm worried that I'll drive myself crazy there too.
Just ask other family members e.g. How they see / hear that.
Compulsions tend to get worse and worse without treatment.
Usually I first send people to self-help groups for something like that, but currently only the treatment of professionals is possible so go to a psychologist or something similar.
Let yourself be treated otherwise you will also exchange your "broken apartment".
