I play minecraft on PS4 and there are only three types of worlds old, flat and infinite. Old is too small and infinite is just infinite xD. How should it then be possible to find an end portal there? In theory, it can be anywhere, no matter how many eyes you throw to look for it. So do you have a realistic chance of finding a potential in an infinite world or do you have to search for years?

I'm sure you will. It's not that far away. All you need is a couple of ender eyes and then you're good to go.

No, it's always relatively close to you
I mean that within 96,000 blocks or so of your spawn point, 128 strongholds spawn in 6 rings, so it is not possible for strongholds to spawn outside of these "rings". Unfortunately I can't tell you whether this also applies to the Bedrock version.
So take a look to find an end portal you have to go to strong hold of which there are, by the way, several for that you can use ender eyes made from blaze rod dust and ender pearls (blaze rods can be found in the nether) if you have the ender eyes one of those on the floor it flies in the direction of the portal and it can disappear besides that you need a maximum of 12 ender eyes to activate the portal plus a few for the way. A little tip who you fight the dragon set yourself a spawn with a bed at the portal so that you can go back if you die and write down the coordinates of the stronghold
What are strongholds?
The closest stronghold is about 1000 blocks from the spawn
In addition, the ender eyes show you where to find the stronghold
So if an ender eye suddenly flies the other way, then the stronghold is near you
And infinite worlds are not infinitely large but 60,000,000 * 60,000,000 blocks in size
