Need for Speed Payback - play online Origin / PS4?

I have a relatively simple problem, but I can't find a solution for it;

I generally try to play online with a buddy 'Need for Speed: Payback' in AllDrive mode. He plays on a PS4, I play on Origin on the PC. Problem is: To play in the same lobby, we have to add each other as friends. However, my buddy can't find me at PSN, I can't find him at Origin because I do not own a Playstation and he is not a PC player.

The only option I could think of is having my buddy Origin installed on any PC, connecting his PSN account, and then adding him as a friend through his Placeholder Origin account. However, I do not know if it's going to show up to me online / in-game when it's on the Playstation, or adding to an AllDrive game.

Does anyone have any idea how EA imagines it? I'm now relatively helpless.

No, it does not work because NFS Payback does not support Crossplay.
