Today I noticed a very strange and situationally very annoying bug on my TV. If I don't have an HDMI device connected that is at least in Stadby mode, then my TV gets all sorts of strange remote control inputs even if I cover the infrared sensor. The volume goes up continuously, sometimes numerical entries come in that change the channel when I'm on the satellite input, etc.
At first I thought it was due to the PS5 that I picked up today and that the bug just doesn't appear when I plug it in, but it's the same with my Fire TV Stick.
So far I apparently just didn't notice it because the Fire TV Stick is permanently connected and is in a permanent standby mode, which in turn prevents the bug.
Has anyone ever experienced something similar, or knows what might be the reason?
Do a software update from the television.
And take a look in the menu. There are functions that allow an HDMI device to control the television. I just can't remember the name right now. Turn that off, maybe it's buggy too.
The software is up-to-date and I have already reset it to the factory settings twice.
The latter also imagine that I've seen something like this in the menu before, but I think that was with older system software. Can't find it at the moment either.
