I recently saw numerous PICTURES of the Ps5 on eBay for over 500 euro and inquired about it. This is supposed to serve to trick the bots of resellers and scalpers, which I also think is a good idea. But one question came to mind: Is it even legal with the pictures? According to my modest understanding of the law, all of this should actually be allowed, since most of the time it is clear from the title of these offers that it is a picture and not a real console. But would like to hear the opinion of others.
This is not intended to trick bots, but buyers.
It is legal, but eBay recently decided to take action, at least in the case of the ps5
As long as it is clearly and unambiguously described that it is only about a picture or empty packaging, selling is permitted and legally entirely legitimate, even if morally not ok, I think.
It is even less ok, however, that some resellers sell consoles for twice the price and enrich themselves from the suffering of others
Yeah, that's really bad. But as you can see, the greed of some gamblers is too great to simply let these usurious resellers sit on their goods and starve to death.
