Why can't anyone read my messages?

So I'm watching a stream on Twitch and just write something in it, but the streamer and the others there can read my messages. Did I get a ban or what?

Earlier someone just randomly said Hu… To me. I just wrote "What's going on bro?" and yeah he was banned and now I can write, but nobody reads my messages. I restarted my cell phone and left Twitch a thousand times but it didn't work.

That sounds like a so-called shadowban.

Or does this not only affect you, but maybe also other users? Then these could also be server problems on Twitch. However, in the last few days (and right now) I have not noticed any such server problems.
