Best free program for streaming and recording?

I want to start streaming on Twitch and videos on Youtube but I have no idea which programs are the best. I tried OBS but my recording was lagging around and when streaming even though my PC is not bad.

Because you have to choose the encoder on the graphics card with one, otherwise your PC won't make it, should be somewhere in the settings
