Twitch Chats No animated smileys?

I noticed that the chats look different to me than the streamers themselves, e.g. The Pepe (frog) smileys are always displayed as a word, never as a smiley or animated smiley…

does not tell me now you do not have to have some kind of abo at twitch to see the smileys like that would be ultra ridiculous
