Can I continue playing Modern warfare directly?

I currently only have Call of Duty War Zone. The free Bartel Royale mode. I ordered a CD for my Xbox modern warfare and my question is what I have to do to continue playing where I'm when it matters.

will the lock then be closed via multiplayer and the campaign etc. Disappear and I can just start classes in the multiplayer with my weapons?
