Xbox controller on PC switches to player 2?

I often use a controller on my PC to play games like fifa and other. My problem is that sometimes the controller is no longer connected and switches to player 2 and some games are no longer playable. Can you do anything without having to restart the pc every time?

As the name indicates. Is for x-box and not for PCs.

Microsoft will do the hell to improve that. You want to sell console games. Brings a lot more money.
