Wants to upgrade my pc, can anyone advise me?

An intel i7 6700 3.4ghz is currently installed

a geforce gtx 970 graphics card as well

16gb ram and an ssd hard drive.

wants to be able to play the new wave of games that is now available for ps5 and xbox.

The first thing I would do is improve the graphics card, namely with an rx 580 or a gtx 1660 the cards are about the same and good value for money.

Thank you first, the gtx 1660 is more expensive than the rx580 although it only has 6 instead of 8gb, that irritates me a bit, which of the two is the better?

And will the cpu be sufficient for said purposes?

I have the rx 580 and I'm satisfied. I can play well in most games with rather lower settings like 130fps. The friend of mine has an overpacked 1660 and we're about the same on it is a bit better so I don't know for sure myself.

I just can't know what kind of games will come out, but I've always kept up with my pc in normal to slightly more performance-enhancing games and was happy, so I think so.

So I wouldn't use a 1060 as a graphics card because the games don't run so smoothly with this graphics card, I would recommend the Geforce gtx 3060 ti for the newer games, but would change the cpu a ryzen 5 3600 is good with the 3060 ti
