Sea Of Thieves Xbox Play Anywhere and Steam?

I was originally a console player (Xbox) and then switched to the PC. I took it with Xbox Play Anywhere e.g. Sea Of Thieves, which I now only play on PC. But since I've heard that Sea Of Thieves will be available on Steam soon, I asked myself whether I could then play with people who bought the game on Steam, since the buddies had previously been invited via the Xbox friends list.

I don't think anyone knows. I wonder if you can use the previous character with the Steam version.

As far as I know you will be able to play with people from the Steam version and add them too. I also connected my Microsoft Games account to Steam so I automatically added my friends there.
