So I want to get an Xbox Series s but I'm insecure. Many say it is not a console for the future because of the ram and ssd memory. I currently have a ps4 slim with 500gb ssd and that's enough for me. I would also have a maximum of 5 games on the Xbox. One would definitely be Forza and 1-2 AC games. Can I have spas with the Xbox for 4-5 years? Is it worth buying one? Or would you prefer Xbox Series x? Please give reasons
In terms of performance, the Series X is the best console out there so far and also a bit better than the PS5.
Which one you should buy depends entirely on your taste.
The PS5 has the Duelsense controller and more exclusive games.
The Xbox has a strong game pass, good backward compatibility and a good range of games.
So it is so that the Series s does not have 4K resolution, but my television does not have it either, so it would be irrelevant to me. Are there any other performance differences?
The Series S is generally a little weaker than the X.
The hardware is sufficient for current titles in good quality and in the future for cloud gaming in very good quality. What the hell? If you want to play offline or independently of a cloud at home, then Series X
Do not forget the emulators and the now good store… Madness, what everything is possible. In theory, you hardly need any other consoles with the Series X.
However, I have never tested it myself with emulators, just read about it.
If you are not planning to buy a 4K TV, the Series S is definitely interesting
however, it has a few disadvantages, e.g. Little memory
Also, Xbox One games are played in the version for the One S (not in the One X version) and that is a serious disadvantage in terms of graphics
This will be my first Xbox so I don't have an Xbox one to play
So mostly offline games like AC Forza Fifa but also online
But you will quickly come across which, for example, the majority of them are in Gamepass
Many new games, for example the new Nier, are still pure Xbox One games
I have the Xbox Series X and I can only recommend it. There's not much difference in performance from a good gaming PC. But the Xbox is just a lot cheaper. So if you have a rather small budget, buy the Series X. If you have more money, just buy a gaming PC with an AMD Ryzen 7 3950x and otherwise good hardware. (Compilation on http://www.alternate.de)

The Xbox Series S is the most future-proof and not the most future-proof console. Compared to the Xbox One (S | X) and Playstation 4 (Pro | Slim) it is quite future-proof, but not as future-proof as its big brother the Xbox Series X.
I wouldn't worry about the memory with you. Forza and a few Assassin's Creed games fit on it easily, they are also smaller in terms of storage space than on the Xbox Series X.
Can I have spas with the Xbox for 4-5 years?
Yes you can.
Compared to the competition, the consoles are supported a lot longer, so you can still play Fortnite, Call of Duty and Forza in 7 years, because the servers are not switched off and, as with the competition, it is not a complete death of the Console there.
In terms of performance, however, it could be a bit difficult. The Xbox Series X is worth a lot more, because it currently offers the fastest hardware on the console market, unfortunately the Xbox Series S simply can't withstand in some points, in 5 years you will probably have the same problem as now with Cyberpunk 2077, at least on the Xbox Series S / Playstation 5, the Xbox Series X will very likely be able to play future games quite well, especially due to the performance buffer.
Or would you prefer Xbox Series x? Please give reasons
The extra charge is worth it.
200 euro (if you can get it normally) is not a little, but not a lot either. For the money people buy a memory expansion card for the Xbox Series S, but the Xbox Series X is worth a lot more. The performance and the memory would be reason enough for me.
I would completely advise against the Playstation 5 (as it is included in this survey), because it is very likely that it will not be particularly future-proof, because the performance is around 25% lower than the Xbox Series X, which will mainly be make noticeable in future titles. In terms of storage technology, it also doesn't have much to offer. Only 600GB of memory is available, that's a joke compared to the Xbox Series X, which also has the option of expanding the memory, both internally and externally.
The Xbox Series S has 4K resolution:-)
Right. In the rarest cases and then only upscaled, but if you take that into account, that is not entirely wrong.
:-).
So it is officially communicated that you can play games in up to 4K (upscaled) on the Xbox Series S. Films, the dashboard and the like are then of course played back natively.
However, a 4K TV is only really worth it with the Xbox X consoles, called the Xbox One X and the Xbox Series X. With all other consoles, this is either upscaled or not available at all.
You could also play these and similar future games via the cloud.
In both cases, 4K is displayed, regardless of whether it is upscaled or native. To reproduce this resolution, you also need a corresponding display.
That's true:-).
Thank you very much for this extensive answer!
