Team Sonic Racing (the new game) is not online?

Hi! We have a huge problem! Me and my two buddies have joined release team Sonic Racing for Xbox One. We were so looking forward to the game, wanted to play together online. But the online mode is not something like that? We have not once managed to invite ourselves, the game is unplayable online, I want my money back, is there a patch? And what can you do about it? : /
