Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Cross Play on PC with Controller?

Have before me the new CoD to get, since my Xbox tragically wise verreckt is I wanted to get the game now for the PC. But since I'm an extreme rivet with mouse and keyboard I wanted to ask if it is possible to connect my Xbox Controller to my PC and thus only play against controller players (ie not in any lobbies with other PC players) Do you want to play this function or does it just mean PC = mouse & keyboard?

Should be with every new game that you come with a connected controller in PC lobbies but with controller players.

Not for COD. Modern Warfare has crossplay. If this is activated, you play across platforms. However, you have little chance on PC with controller against PC mouse and keyboard…

As far as I know, players basically only play with players with the same input devices.

I myself play on the One and with activated Crossplay, where I'm not worse than when disabled, the lobby displays both system and control. There's always PC controller controllers.

Thus, I assume that the server recognizes the input device and mediates accordingly.

That's how I see it too.
