Which controller for iPad Air?

I would like to buy a gaming controller for the iPad. Now I just don't know which one I can use? Playstation or Xbox should go too, right? Or are there special controllers for it? Can someone recommend one that is not too expensive?

I can't imagine which games on the ipad are so good that you buy a controller especially for it, but well.
