Halo Fireteam Raven?

I have an Xbox one and love the Halo series. I've never had a Halo game before, so I do not know any storyline, etc. Which halo game should I get the best? Is the latest halo part recommended? Does every game have its own story or is it coherent?

Ab

The game "Halo Fireteam Raven" is an arcade slots game that does not exist for the Xbox.

To start from the beginning, I recommend Chronological:

Halo Wars (Remaster also for the One)

Halo Reach (soon also in MCC)

Halo CE (included in MCC)

Halo 2 (included in MCC, original not compatible with the One Backward)

Halo 3 ODST (Chargeable as DLC included in MCC)

Halo 3 (included in MCC)

Halo Spartan Assault (Xbox 360 or Xbox One Version)

Halo 4 (included in MCC)

Halo 4 Spartan OPS (included in Halo 4, playable in the MCC without Xbox Live Gold)

Halo 5 Guardians

Halo Wars 2

Halo Infinite (coming soon)

Pa

Thank you, so far I have MCC, Reach and ODST. Should I get the other parts in between, so that the story really makes sense, or is it not so bad if I now, for example. Start with Reach and skip CE… Thanks for your answer.

In the MC Collection most of the games have been received and I have Reach too.

Ma

In no case skip CE, more about that in my answer.

Ma

You have already answered the chronological order of the story but I would not play it that way for several reasons.

First of all, the games have appeared in a different order and with each additional part regardless of whether it plays in the timeline before or after CE, the developers have added something. So there are various hints and cross-references that only make sense if you start from the beginning with the very first part, Halo Combat Evolved. Also, as the Halo Universe continues to evolve throughout the games, you would get input through Halo Wars that you do not even know at CE, which is more confusing than helping. The developers have thought something in the course of the games.

Then it is also advantageous to tackle the games by release date because the older the weaker, not only graphically but also playful are the games. So you'd work your way up from a very old-fashioned shooter with outdated graphics to the latest title. Then the shock is not so deep as it gets better and better.

Now a few hints. With the Halo Spartan Assault titles, the story is not really meaningfully expanded as this was initially only mobile offshoots that do not really want to ignite on console and are also overpriced. The two Halo Wars parts are RTS games, not shooters. If you do not like something like that, you can do without it, even though they provide a lot of content in terms of storytelling and are also really great in terms of play.

And last but not least, start with Halo Combat Evolved! This game made shooter on console console acceptable and also introduced some things that are still standard on shooters. A milestone in video game history and the true beginning of the epic Halo series.

Again the order after appearance without the inglorious Spartan Assault titles.

Halo Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3 as a self-contained trilogy

Halo Wars, ODST, Reach to expand the universe and playfully risk something different.

Halo 4, Halo 5, Halo Wars 2 the former two are the beginning of a new trilogy under new developers and their conclusion only with the not yet published Infinite finds.

I hope that helps you because it comes from a dedicated Halofan.

Pa

Thank you very much for taking the trouble to give me all this info. I trust you now, because I think it makes the most sense, because the manufacturers have certainly thought something. I just have the Master Chief Collection, I suppose there are Halo 2,3, etc. Same as the old ones, so can I use this collection to follow your order, right? I try to buy the parts you have not yet in Xbox Store, thank you very much and I wish you the best for your future life.

Ma

I liked to do it, it comes from a huge Halofan. As a thank you, you filled me with likes and thanks. "

And sure you can start with the MCC. Not only is the first trilogy completely included, but also part 1 and 2 have been overhauled graphically. With Halo 3 you have a worthy conclusion. ODST tells a subplot around New Mombasa from Halo 2 and 3 and playfully does something different. Halo Wars, on the other hand, is initially open-ended in an entirely different theater of war and, as RTS is also a completely different game. With Reach, Bungie duly completes his Halo series, sheds light on an important character and also creates the most playfully best part of the series.

With Halo 4 343 Industries took over the series and could not come close with Part 5 to its predecessor. Neither playful nor story-technically. Still, they are terrific shooters and hopefully Infinite will be a worthy Halo title as the conclusion to the new trilogy. Halo Wars 2 continues the story from the first part and is also the most recent title from the Halouniverse.

If you want to play it all you have to do well. Not to mention that almost all games have outstanding multiplayer features.

Pa

Haha Yes, but it's not often that someone gives such a good and detailed answer, so thanks.

Have a general question about the MCC, there are Halo 2,3,4 and ODST included I think. Is it possible to choose the single games eg Halo 3 ingame at the title screen?

And again for understanding. I'll start with Halo Combat Evolved, then connect Halo 2 and 3 from the MCC and that's the 1st trilogy attached.

After that, I play Wars, ODST (from the MCC) and Reach (thanks to backward compatibility), do these three parts have anything to do with the first trilogy, or do they have their own story with example other characters? The same question arises as to whether the third trilogy has anything to do with the second.

Then I play Halo 4 (from MCC) and Halo 5, which are the first two parts of the trilogy and Infinite will finish in 2020 as well. So what does Halo Wars 2 have to do with this trilogy, so the story is still related or why should I play it until the end?

Are the games I do not have yet available in the Xbox store?

I played halo with a buddy a few years ago and fell in love. For years, therefore, I suppose to play the PS also an Xbox only because of Halo and last week I have finally done it and would like to be well informed, so I can play it in order, after soo long renounce it had to.

I hope you have understood all the questions, thank you for your efforts.

Ma

Sure, you can individually select including their own memory levels.

I'll write later, I'm still working.

Pa

Until later

Ma

So now I have some time and when it comes to my favorite Halo series I always have time to answer in detail and hopefully well.

That's right, you start with the first trilogy of Halo CE, Halo 2 and Halo 3 as the conclusion. This is the story actually finished but the fans want more of Halo.

The following games do not form a trilogy and, as you correctly judge, have their own story and their own characters, even if they do of course overlap. Also, they are not a trilogy but each independent games.

Halo Wars plays almost simultaneously with Halo CE but in a very different part of the universe, and thus has nothing to do with the Master Chief, but with the same framework (Alliance War). As already described, ODST is a story about an OAST Squad (aka the paratroopers of the Halo Universe) and plays between Halo 2 and Halo 3 during New Mombasa, occupied by the alliance. But at the same time as the events surrounding the Master Chief Of course, there's a greater intersection, although here too the plot is detached from the first trilogy. And last but not least the final game of Bungie, Halo Reach. Probably playful and story-wise the best part of the shooter series. Here you play the events just before Halo CE quasi a prologue but in the story context seems quite important and subsequently explains a lot.

This is followed by Halo 4 and Halo 5. A new start and continuation of the brand by 343 Industries as a developer with a new story, again designed as a trilogy to find its degree with Halo Infinite.

Halo Wars 2 was the last thing I did because it was also the last one. However, it connects seamlessly to the first part and since the plot still plays somewhere else, there's also temporal overlap, but the story has nothing to do with the two trilogies. You can do that as well before the start of the second trilogy.

I hope now all questions are resolved. If not, I'm here.

But one more hint, because you said you played Halo with a buddy years ago. As much as I like Halo, it's often an old game, Halo CE was released in 2001, better in memory than real. Only that you are not disappointed. Nevertheless, I wish you much fun and hope that you can inspire yourself for the Halouniversum.

Ma

Damn, now I can think of something else.

Halo has always had a pretty good and cooperative opponent AI. This makes it quite challenging if not tactical. The fact that you only have two weapons you have to weigh often.

So do not play on "light" or "normal". This makes the majority of the fighting too easy and the charm disappears to have achieved something.

A true Spartan plays on "heroic" and in the Coop then on "legendary". In the latter case, each part still holds a secret sequence.

Pa

I'll be right at my Xbox one and check if there are games online to download. I assume Halo CE and Wars 1 are also playable for backward compatibility for the one. If I find the games online, I'll start right now.

And ps: I would never think of a game, let alone play Halo on easy or normal, that's a point of honor.

Ma

Halo CE is included in the MCC and you have it. That's the very first game in the series.

And yes, Halo Wars is backwards compatible. Apart from this, you are missing only Halo Wars 2 and Halo 5 if I'm not mistaken.

Pa

Ahh agrees ODST and CE is included in the MCC. I already have Halo Wars 2 and Halo 5, so now I have all the games and the right order. I'll get in touch when I'm through the games or a part, I'm sure I'll have to ask about the history of the game

Ma

Well, then have fun

I think you'll know more than me in the end. With me it's all a bit her.😉

Pa

Thanks, which game mode and which point multipliers I choose to do what with the additional scene you mentioned above? From heroic comes anyway or?

Ma

No that has no influence.

The multipliers and Funschädel were initially only an Easteregg which there was to find. However, you can already activate it in the MCC before it starts.

But the special end sequences are only on Legendary, which alone is almost impossible and also quite fun.

Pa

Ouu a pity, would there be such a sequence in every part or only in the first part? Did you manage when? I'll probably look at this sequence on yt

Ma

So a reward should be therefore only on legendary.

Whether with everyone I do not know anymore but definitely not only at the first one. Sure, you can watch the movies on YouTube, but I recommend only the normal end sequence to earn yourself.
