Buyer wants to return items on ebay - what to do as a seller?

I sold 5 Nintendo 3DS games on ebay through PayPal. The buyer now wants to return the items because they appear to be different from the item description. He said that the instructions for the game were missing for two packages. I didn't mention anywhere in the item description that they were there at all.

On ebay I can now only choose whether I accept the return, offer a partial refund or send a message to the seller. However, I want to refuse the return, because in my opinion the reason is pointless.

What can I do as a seller in this case? What happens if I don't respond to the return request? I will definitely not offer PayPal in the future, that's for sure…

Tell him he can put the complaint somewhere else.

You can be so nice and send him a link where the game description can be downloaded via PDF.

If you do not react, you have a negative rating, I can guarantee that.

What amount are we talking about here?

Let the buyer send the goods back and refund the amount (after receiving the goods). If you had excluded redemption in your auction, I would let the buyer bear the return shipping costs, otherwise you should reimburse them.

If you persist in your point of view, you will only trade yourself into trouble. And if you're right ten times.

You can also offer a discount.

Otherwise you are right, as a private seller you shouldn't offer PayPal. Because then it can happen if you don't react that the buyer gets his money back, but you don't get your goods. So you'd better go with him. And always stay polite to avoid negative reviews.

I live in Austria and he lives in Germany. If I carry the shipping costs twice, that's a fair amount of money

He said that the instructions for the game were missing for two packages.

Does the game manual belong to the original offers?

I didn't mention anywhere in the item description that they were there at all.

If so, then you did not understand the answers in your question from March 6th, 2020. Then the article description would have given the clear indication that the sale takes place without game instructions for xxx and xxx.

Let Dirt send the games back, reimburse the buyer for the shipping costs and learn from them that offers have to be created correctly.

Your comment:

This is your bad luck but not the fault of the buyer.

Apparently it is a justified complaint about defects.

He assumes that the packaging also includes the game description. He made it up completely and was not part of the description. I think your reasoning makes less sense.

If I buy an old Golf, can I also complain if there's no V12 engine installed?

Da

He assumes that the packaging also includes the game description.

If you offered with packaging and the games contain this game description when new, then you should have indicated in the offer that the description / instructions are not included. Otherwise, the buyer can assume that this is included:

Haikoko is right there. Otherwise, ask the buyer if a small refund would suffice

Can you hand him the game instructions as a PDF? (Most of the time there's something on the Internet.)

Are the game instructions included when you buy the game again? If so, you should have mentioned that it is not there.
