PS4 controller sold, customer complained?

The situation is somewhat confused.

I sold 2 x PS4 V2 controllers on eBay classifieds. Private and without any warranty. The controller checked the functions before sending. Still accepted goods and services as payment via PayPal. (I already know that you shouldn't do this, now all the more!)

The buyer received the goods on May 28th and immediately claimed a defect with one of the controllers. I offered him to take the one back out of goodwill and thought that the damage might have happened on the way of shipping. The second controller was not criticized.

On Saturday, May 31st at 8 a.m. (3rd day after receipt) the buyer wrote me a message that the 2nd controller was also defective and that he would also return it. The same day at 11:00 am he sent me the receipt from the post and the message that both of them would go back to me. I didn't see the two messages until the evening, so I didn't have a chance to comment. The buyer also sent the shipment as a parcel without tracking.

Conclusion, the buyer has the above Process carried out without consulting me.

How should I deal with it, what about buyer protection now? (PayPal clarification case was opened in parallel)

And regardless of buyer protection and PayPal decision! What is the situation? In my possession, both controllers were not defective.

As a PayPal user, you should actually know how buyer protection cases usually turn out.

Of course, you can then take civil action against the buyer.
