Is something broken (Nintendo 3ds XL)?

As usual, I switched on my device yesterday. I immediately noticed that the upper and lower displays have lost both of their color. That means not that you can't see, but it's very pale, so it's really difficult to play and especially in a game that is darker. There you notice that there are white or transparent lines from top to bottom, each with a millimeter gap.

You have to know that the Nintendo did not fall down or that it was folded too hard - it was switched off as usual.

For information, the brightness is set to 5 (highest)

I tried switching it on and off a couple of times, even leaving it overnight did not help

Now, of course, I'm wondering whether I might have clicked something or whether it just broke from one day to the next, because if that's the case, of course, I don't want to repair an eight-year-old Nintendo and would have to put it away but now if someone has already dealt with such a case, I would look forward to an answer.

I had that too. I just bought a new Nintendo at the time.
