I currently own a New Nintendo 3DS XL and I really enjoy playing with it. However, I still have some of my old DS games.
Problem: New Super Mario Bros. DS plays the New Nintendo 3DS XL, but not Mario Party DS. Then there's always an error message and the system says I should switch off the 3DS.
Because the 3DS is already very noodle, I want to buy a Nintendo 3DS XL. Does it possibly play all DS games or is it due to Mario Party in general?
Maybe someone knows more?
The new 3ds should actually be able to play all ds games. It is probably due to the game but it can also be that something is wrong in 3ds
Try it out with an emulator on the PC. Then you can see if it's the game or your console. Or you just do a system update.
Do you have CFW (Custom Firmware)?
You can usually play games from a DS on a 3DS. Check whether the contact points are clean and not broken (scratched, broken off etc.).
Basically, all DS games also work on all systems in the 3DS family.
If Mario Party DS does not work, I would suspect a defect in the cartridge. There's probably something wrong with the contacts.
The game goes on the normal DS Lite
In that case my next guess would be that something is wrong with the 3DS. However, since all other games seem to work without any problems, I don't know exactly where this problem could be.
