My better half and I are looking for a new console or something that we can use if possible
can play many CoopGames
can play with split screen or 2 handhelds (2 TVs or monitors are NOT an option!)
no monthly subscription (such as Playstation + need)
In a nutshell: If we ever find time to gamble, then only in pairs. We prefer story co-op, such as Resident Evil 5, Alienation, Zombie Nation, Borderlands, etc… At the moment we have pretty much everything in couch co-op games for the PS4 through…
Splitscreen is okay, but sometimes annoying (despite 65 "TV). So I ask whether 2x Nintendo Switch makes sense here? Don't look through whether you need a membership that you have to pay monthly or annually ( we don't want that.) It would also be interesting to know whether you always need the game twice with 2 handhelds or whether you can run it via an account?
When it comes to Switch, it bothers me that most of the games are for the kids and there are only a few games for "adults" that can sometimes be harder.
We're also open to other suggestions, opinions or suggestions!
In order to use the multiplayer in all games on the Switch, you need a paid membership
Ok… Would ONE membership be enough so that two of us could play together or would BOTH have to pay the membership?
But I think if you don't play locally online, you can play two people without a membership.
Yes, but not all games have a local mode
So actually you could get what you want, PS4, Xbox or the Switch, because if you only play offline in pairs without other players online, only with bots or alone as you already say story, then one of the 3 mentioned would be possible. But I think that the Switch has the most co-op games in terms of story as well as playing against each other, e.g. Risk of Rain, 1-2-switch, Mario kart, Mario jump n run games etc.
So you can play almost every Mario with two people
The best thing to do is take a look at some of the games on ps4, xbox and the switch online and watch the trailers. There are probably some that you like very much
Which not?
That would be remorseful for having to pay for playing offline.
But I'm pretty sure that every game offline has a local mode
E.g. Minecraft and Super Mario Maker 2
No, you need Switch Online for online, not local.
One is enough, you could take out an annual family subscription. Up to 6 people can enter there. That costs around 35 euro a year, which is quite cheap.
Yes, I said too, because I wrote "to use multiplayer in ALL games"
A switch would be the best choice. The Switch has a lot of games that you can play in pairs. It is also a handheld and a home console! But if you don't want to buy the game twice, a console would be a better choice, despite split screens in some games.
The Switch would be great for 2-4 players.
The problem with the PS4 is that a so-called online membership, for example, costs 60 euro a year.
The Switch again costs 20-35 euro.
And with the Xbox that costs another 60 euro.
And even if the Switch is actually a more family-friendly console, there are still a lot of great games.
Yes, but local is also multiplayer.
I said yes to all because not all of them have a local mode
Yes, because i never had a problem with it and there are quite a few games and more than so on Xbox or Nintedo because like for example The Last of Us
I thank you. We own PS4 and have played almost all co-op games.
Ok, I could still handle that in terms of price. I actually didn't want to be tied to a subscription, as we only gamble very little and only in the winter months…
That depends more on whether you want to gamble online or not.
Not actually online…
But if everyone has their own handheld and we want to gamble in the Coop, then there's no getting around online?!
There used to be something like "local-coop" or "lan-koop" with the PC, which I completely miss with the consoles. An internet connection (and usually a subscription) is always required to play on 2 devices.
Online yes, but not offline, so play your own creations
Then I would rather recommend the switch to you
Thank you
It has actually become a switch now.
