DS Emulator for R4 card needed?

I got this R4 card for my birthday. Only if I play a DS Emulator on the R4 card, the emulator is not there. I tried that with DeSmu, IDeaS and DeSmuME. So I'm wondering is an emulator needed on an R4 card? I'm using a New Nintendo 3DS XL by the way.

This is a folder structure with div files that need to go directly into the root directory… The games are then added to the map. I mean, you can create a folder for that, to keep a little overview (should not a folder already be given for that)

At my R4 for the DSi that was not necessary at the time, I think that's not the case with you either.

Just download the games from the internet and play them up.

Why should you need an emulator? You put it in the right hardware…

You need the right firmware though.
