3ds sliding pad is worn out?

As you can see in the picture, the sliding pad of my Nintendo is a little worn. I initially wanted to buy a new one to replace it, but for that I would have to unscrew the device. The repair costs almost 40 euro. However, since the slide pad still works well and my Nintendo is already very old, it was clearly too expensive for me.

Maybe someone has a solution to my problem?
