You should not use the garbage at all.
If you still want it, you put the part between two firewalls (DMZ). This allows you to secure your internal network and additionally create the possibility that you use your 65000 external ports. Whatever this funny Nintento Switch needs. The software running on the part seems to be pretty botched.
