Is the new nintendo 3ds XL backwards compatible and is it still worth buying? Please as many facts as possible.
On the 3DS XL you can play 3Ds and normal DS games. If you have a lot of games that you would like to play there, then it's definitely worth buying. It becomes more of a problem because you can no longer get hold of many old games such as Pokemon.
Yes, I have a 3ds XL myself and that's pretty cool.
Yes, you can also use it to play DS Games.
But I think there are problems with the country code. So I don't think us ds games are going. They have to be European by then and Nintendo screwed up a lot because that annoys many players.
3ds is just awesome! You should buy!
The only catch: If you get Snes games in the e-shop, multiplayer does not work. At least not with the original Nintendo software. They were just too lazy to implement it in a technically decent way. Great: Streetfighter and so in single player mode. So that's a real criticism.
I would advise you to wait a few more years until a new complete handheld from Nintendo comes out
