Is crossplay between PS4 and PC possible with Path of Exile?

I'm thinking about testing Path of Exile. A buddy of mine plays this on the PS4. Although I have one, but I prefer to play on PC. So I wanted to ask if I can play with him when playing on the PC?

And after so many years, a lot may have changed. Sony is now a bit more open when it comes to cross-play when it comes to the PC.
