What triggers an abandonment penalty in Rainbow 6 Siege?

I played the new event today and was then invited to a group by randoms (play on Ps4) and then left the event mode early to play ranked with the randoms. The Randoms were weird in an extreme way, so I left matchmaking (before we even found a session) and left the party. Now I've got a drop-out penalty: /. I checked the ranked overview to see that I got +44 SSB after the last game.

Now the question is- did I get the cancellation penalty because I left the event or did the game find a session exactly then where I left the search? Do I lose SSB now?

It may well be that it found a game at the exact moment you left. Usually you can re-join.

In general, however, the matchmaking has been a bit buggy lately, I've already received penalties for allegedly abandoning it, although there was nothing at all.

I can't imagine getting a penalty for event mode.

For some reason, my rating didn't drop (see picture). I don't want to complain about it now, but that just surprises me a little… Do you lose SSB if you leave the game in preparation and the game is canceled by the mates? Other than that, I can't explain it to myself

You get the penalty when you leave the event mode.
