Can you get the update when you enter nether?

I have a question so the ps4 is currently 1.14 active (in minecraft) and at 1.16 the nether update is coming and we have already entered the nether, will we get the update if it is 1.16?

You will only get the nether update if you change the version to 1.16 or either play the snapshots or wait for the full version of 1.16
