I would like to get a monitor for my Ps5. I saw a Black Friday deal on Otto:
MSI Optix MAG341CQ gaming monitor (3440 x 1440 pixels, UWQHD, 8 ms response time, 100 Hz)
Is that enough? I don't know anything about that, but I know that I probably won't be able to gamble on 4k with it.
UWQHD? 8ms? 100Hz?
Is definitely unsuitable. Especially with the EIA.
This one is a bit cheaper, has 144Hz, WQHD which is completely sufficient for the next gen and 1ms response time.

The ps5 does not support uwqhd
What? For the PS5 a bad recommendation.
And with what justification?
Because WQHD is not natively supported by the PS5 & therefore only Full HD is extrapolated.
Is still suitable for Ps5. If WQHD is not supposed to do it anyway, you can rather make the 144Hz full. 4K is simply not worth it for the Ps5 and when you get WQHD, you think a bit into the future, if you buy a PC, for example.
What kind of reason is that. Of course, 4K is worth it on the PS5. With 4K you think into the future, not with WQHD, which is of course good for current PCs, but is now obsolete with the new RTX GPUs. I myself use the Series X on a 4K TV with a 120Hz panel & the difference to my computer with WQHD is bombastic.
We're not talking about the X series, but the Ps5, where 4k degrees are still possible with tricks. 4k on the Ps5 is not possible every time. Apart from that, the RTX series itself has recently been overhauled. The RX 6800 XT alone puts the RTX 3080 in the shade.
Which speaks even more in favor of setting the PC to 4K when the prices have normalized. But I wonder more where you got your information from, because it's wrong. Of course, it has to be calculated downwards in places, e.g. Should be kept in Cod CW 120Hz. But 4K @ 60fps is possible with the PS5.
Where is my information wrong? Not every game has been optimized for 4k, let alone the Ps5, by that I mean most of the Ps4 games. And not every game manages 4k with more than 60 FPS, which is why even the 144Hz can't be reached. You'd rather get something better than Full HD, which is also future-proof and still has a very good performance. Apart from that, smart 4k gaming monitors cost a lot of money.
