This is something that should at least be a game. For ps4 it will be released in any case and also for the ps5 it is in my opinion quite unlikely.

Star Citzen is a mix of space simulation playing in the 30th century and MMO, however the game is still in Alpha and will probably be in development for a few more years and no it will never appear for a console, it's supposed to be a computer stay only. Later, all players are supposed to play some kind of "Mega Server" games, similar to EVE Online.

At the moment you can do missions, do missions (quests), fly off transport routes and trade with various commodities to earn money, destroy asteroids in space and ore deposits on moons / planets and also NPC (soon to be a player) for a bounty.

There are currently 3 planets, of which you can land on 2, the 3rd is a gas giant, around which a space station circles. In addition, there are about a dozen moons on which you can land, but they are smaller than the planets. Later you should also be able to do various other things, such as building your own outposts on planets. At the moment, doing active gaming does not really make sense because the money you earn will be reset about every 3 months (say with every new update). But what can be fun are the PVP modules such as ArenaCommander (PVP with spaceships or spaceship races) and StarMarine (classic FPS), as there are already rankings that are constantly being upgraded.

If you still want to know something Ask me, I've been following SC for several years.

Do you fly all the time and explore or is there something like a hometown?

Ba

Well at the moment, there are no real "home" for players, but you should later buy houses / apartments or rooms / rent which you can then decorate etc. Set up. If you log into the Alpha now you will be in such a room alive, but unfortunately you can't do much there and it is always different, because they are not assigned to the players directly.

And of course, there should also be own bases on planets / moons / asteroids, which is more of something for more people. As usual, if you like that, then SC is certainly not wrong. You have to be aware that the development will take another 3-4 years, probably more. The only thing that shortens the waiting time is the single-player campaign "Squadron 42" which will be released in the fall of 2020 and represents the history of Star Citizen.
