I have a question regarding the cabling of a PS4 / TV to an old amplifier / stereo box. I currently have the following setting: My PS4 is connected via HDMI with my Toshiba TV. This is in turn connected by a small jack with my ONKYO Integra A8650, which passes the audio signal to my old IQ boxes. I wonder now if this wiring makes sense? Is there a better option? And is it detrimental to the speakers when the audio signal goes from the PS4 to my TV and then goes to my amplifier? Because the boxes are cracking when the TV is switched on after the amplifier. Sounds not very healthy in any case…
Everything is a bit complicated.
So damaging that should not be normal
Harmful is not that Kancken comes simply from the fact that the jack connector is supplied with power when the TV turns on. Then the boxes crack.
The question is rather, how satisfied are you with the sound quality. In my experience, the quality of this connection is not the best, had that sometimes connected.
Had then bypassed by using a converter for the optical output of the TV.
This then has that optical signal converted to an analog per chinch. The quality was much better afterwards.
Everything is wonderful, as long as it works; For me, similar combinations have been going on for years.
