Need for Speed most wanted to dose gas in 2005?

After a long time I played need for speed mw 2005 again. Meanwhile, I use a ps4 controller (on the pc) and give with R2 gas. So far so good, however, I can only give full throttle and do not dose the gas. Would like to know how I can change that or whether it is the game or controller…
