Bürgererking fraudsters?

A friend of mine had this one week ago with another app.
just like me she got a message supposedly from the app where you can win 400 euro. She fell for it and is waiting for a letter, she won't pay anything and was not advised of a right of withdrawal.

I got a message supposedly from my BurgerKing app 5 minutes ago, it says Bürgererking with the logo and on the right it says 5 minutes ago. The text:

win the new Playstation 5 🎮 😍

Take part in the raffle for a total of 25 PS5 prize packages. Simply register for MyBK and redeem any coupon. 😜

is that now fake? I will delete the message or pop up whatever I know what to call it. Wanted to know if anyone had heard of it before.

La

This is a message from the Burger King app. What should be "fake" about it? It's a Burger King promotion.

Gu

Obviously this is fake.

Like the nuggets made from 100% chicken breast fillet.

ky

They just want your data to bombard you with ads. I don't think that's coming from BK. Ignore, delete!

ba

Wow… How lightly you are of faith

ba

But where do they get the right to send pop-up messages?! XD hey

ba

But why are they allowed to send me pop-up messages?

Ri

A month ago, Burger King had a promotion that was only valid in the USA.

ky

It's now common. Your email address will be sold and passed on, depending on where you register

Ke

If it came from the app and not via a popup, from a typo domain, SMS or WhatsApp, it will probably be serious. BurgerKing will have the servers secured and will likely not be doing anything illegal.

ba

I just looked on the internet and you are right, may be. But why the news here in Germany and only with 25 ps5 instead of 1000

ba

These little…

La

I don't know what kind of insecure and adware-infected mobile phone you have, but on my iPhone I can see exactly which app a push message is coming from.

ky

Well… Isso

Ri

Because it's a fake

ba

Didn't click on it. So I'll never find out A colleague also had it with Zalando and was bad… She came straight to the Zalando site and there was the competition. When the phone call ended, she called Zalando and found out that one of the numbers was fraudulent

ti

Well, Burger King is raffling off PS5s too. Somehow the suspicion arises that the message could be real and that you are suffering from paranoia.

La

You can't send a push message to your mobile phone with an email address. Especially none from the Burger King app.

Ke

If you make a mistake, you'll end up with rubbish. An example would be "Aamzon.de" instead of Amazon.de. (The domain is from Amazon, it's about the principle). Those who switch something are often cyber criminals, they don't care about German law.

ba

I have the iPhone 11 Pro Max. The notification came from the Bürgerking. Even the screenshot looked perfect. Someone must have sold my email, said one. Wat for the dirt

La

Then with all due respect you are really paranoid and also a bit stupid. If it says that the message comes from the Burger King app, then that's it. Has nothing to do with your email address. Stop spinning!

ba

I think it might have happened to me. So almost everyone who owns a cell phone

ba

You would give loredana 800 thousand with an eye patch…

Ke

It could be that they are Emotet scammers. If you click on it, you might get Emotet and be directed to the real page.

ky

Might be. I click away all of the trash when I'm unsure. If an app expects me to register, that's data collection. And then it's spam.

La

If an app expects me to register, that's data collection

You're also one of those people who don't order anything online because you have to enter your address for delivery, aren't you?

ky

Yes, I travel a lot online, but I don't have to give my data to every app and I don't have to register on every page that promises me a PS5 or a BMW prize

he

This is actually real.
