Questions about PlayStation 4, purchase, installation?

Are probably totally embarrassing questions.

If I have such a "gaming monitor" do I have to install anything on it (eg Windows) to connect a PlayStation 4? And what do I have to pay attention to when buying such a monitor, so what must be able to run smoothly with games with sophisticated graphics (eg Shadow of the Tomb Raider)? Is the normal PS4 enough or should you invest in the pro? Do I still have to buy extra boxes, and if so, can you connect directly to a PlayStation or do I need additional cables (or can I also connect headphones / connect with Bluetooth)? Thanks to everyone who takes the time to answer my many questions, unfortunately have no idea of technology.

No, you do not have to install anything extra. Is not synonymous yes. ^^ You just have to connect the console to the monitor and that's it.

The monitor does not have to be a superduper expensive 120 / 144hz (or higher) monitor, because the PS4 / PS4 Pro can only output 60hz (and thus only 60 fps) anyway. He should just be able to provide a good picture (so a full-HD or, for the PS4 Pro, a 4K monitor). The whole calculations will be done by the console anyway.

I would recommend external speakers anyway, since all the built-in monitor boxes have a pretty lax sound. With just about any monitor, you can easily connect headphones to it. The sound is indeed transmitted through the HDMI cable on the screen and thus on the headphones.

Monitor should just have a HDMI connection. Windows or similar you do not need because only a picture comes in and the screen is indeed intended to output images. If the monitor does not have a built-in speaker, you will need to buy additional speakers that you can then plug in with optical cable (does not know whether ps4 has aux port, otherwise that would be enough) or you can see if your monitor may have headphones. Since you can then synonymous z.b PC speakers connect. You can then connect the headset to the ps4 via USB. And I would say ps4 is enough. Depends on how much the pro costs, then what's the better deal. I would grab the pro, if only because the ps4 is getting old and the games need more and more power.

Do not have ps4 so I can net you 100% guess the Pro to buy, but think it makes sense.

Hope I could help you.

So after the series:

No, you do not have to install anything on the monitor, it will not even work. He only has to have one HDMI input.
It is not the monitor that decides how fluent games run, but in this case the console.
Here are some links to compare the PS4 (Slim) vs. PS4 Pro: https://www.gamepro.de/...05004.html https://www.heise.de/...57229.html https://www.netzwelt.de/...solen.html

I would say in general, if you buy yourself a (cheaper) full HD monitor, the PS4 (Slim) is sufficient. If you buy a WQHD or UHD monitor, the PS4 Pro is definitely worth it.
To the speakers / speakers: If the monitor has no built-in which are necessarily mandatory, but even if he has which extra speakers are recommended. If the system supports toslink you can connect it directly to the PS4. Otherwise, an "HDMI Audio Extractor" would probably be the best choice to also attach systems via jack. Except the monitor has a jack output, then you can connect speakers and headphones to it.
Headphones can (as far as I know) directly connected to the controller. I do not know if I can use Bluetooth headphones.

So, I hope I could help you. (And I hope that all my answers are still up to date ^^)

Here also a small supplement from my own experience: A headset whether Bluetooth (wireless) or via USB is in my eyes s.besten if you should not just play with the colleagues Splitscreen on the TV! Headphones do it but are also in my opinion clumsier, with any PS4 should be included in the delivery of a small in-ear headphones that could be used if necessary for the beginning!

Ho

Yeah right. I forgot that.

An

USB also works, Bluetooth / wireless only if the headphones are special for the PS4!

An

With pleasure!

Ju

Thank you! The pro unfortunately costs about 100 euro more which is quite a bite. But I find the differences determined in the net.

Ju

Thank you, that helped me a lot! Then it will not think the Pro, Full HD is enough for me.

Af

Yes I think so too. But if you do not use vr the ps4 should be enough.

Ju

Can be attached to the controller synonymous only special headphones or go there all with a phone jack?

Ju

Many Thanks!

An

All with the 3.5mm audio jack as far as I know.

Ju

Great thank you.
