I wanted to buy The Forest first for PC. But I have no friends who play on a PC. So I thought about getting it for Ps4.
It was the same with Ark: I bought it on Pc, but of course I could only play with strangers. Then I wanted to with friends and bought it for the Ps4. But there it was a pure disappointment. And I did not want to make such a bad buy again.
The Forest on Ps4 is pretty solid. Runs in multiplayer at 30 fps and can optionally be set to 60 fps in the singleplayer, but without Vsync, resulting in tearing.
Otherwise, the content is identical and the multiplayer works smoothly. However I think I can remember that a maximum of 4 players were allowed.

If you do not mind in multiplayer only 30 FPS and Motionblur that should not be a problem.
