Switch to PC and play crossplay with friends or upgrade to PS5?

I've been thinking about buying a gaming PC for a bit longer. However, there was always the problem that I really wanted to play with my PS4 friends (we have known each other for 3 years), and as far as I know there are not too many (for us) games that support crossplay, it was hardly an option. However, I just really wanted to learn something "new". So what would you do? Would you rather upgrade to the PS5 or just play the crossplay games together?

Ei

I have a PS5, Xbox Series X and a gaming PC. Because many games do not support crossplay.

Pc bring me joy…

Ca

What games do you play together so far?

Sw

With the PS5 you will have your peace of mind and do not have to upgrade any hardware to get good graphics and frame rates, as the games are always well optimized for consoles. It's just much more practical. But you have to buy PS Plus for online gaming, online gaming is free on PC. You have to consider that.

Minecraft, now and then GTA Online, Fortnite, Rocket League. Or we just chat at the party

PS5 you will have your peace of mind for the next few years and don't have to upgrade any hardware to get good graphics & performance

You don't have to on the PC either…

Le

I would definitely recommend a PC to you!

You can use PSNow for crossplay. You can only play PSNow indirectly with the mouse and keyboard. Look here:

Other than that, you have a lot more advantages in a computer and are not limited to gaming. You can learn a lot more than just the computer yourself and you can continue to use it in the future - after all, you use a computer again and again.

Sw

Of course you have to. In a few years at the latest, you will not be able to play new games with 2021 hardware in the same graphics and frame rates as will be possible on a PS5 or Xbox Series X, since everything is perfectly optimized on the hardware there. And the performance on consoles does not decrease compared to the PC.

Ca

Fortnite, Rocket League and Mincraft support crossplay.

The chat function can also be used via the smartphone app.

So at first it doesn't speak much against the PC.
However, a gaming PC is more expensive than the PS 5 and you can no longer use your PS4 games.

On the other hand, you hate no costs on the PC for PS + & PS5 is currently not easy to get.

I hope that helps with the decision-making process.

The hardware on consoles is not magically getting better… The graphics on the consoles remain on the same level.

On the computer, you switch the graphics down a little - because in a few years the games will not be able to look on the PS5 as they would on the PC.

Every game can also be optimized well and you have the opportunity to get more games and that cheaper too.

because everything is perfectly optimized there on the hardware.

Did you see Cyberpunk…

Can I play online with PS Now? Probably. Another question I ask myself is whether I can also use the party function

Le

Unfortunately, I don't use PSNow - the online function is definitely there - I can't comment on the party function. But also think that it is there.

Br

And can I use all the games I have bought indefinitely with PS now?

Le

I think so - you need your PSN data to log in, everything should be synced.

I can imagine that some games may not exist on PSNow but I could be wrong.
