My PS4 Pro has coil whistling, but only in certain games…
Why is that and is coil whistling bad?
I would guess that it is due to the load on different games.
I sometimes have it with the grakas. No problem
Coil whine often occurs with graphics cards if you have a lot of FPS.
I guess your PS4 Pro has coil whines in the titles that run at 60 FPS. The games that the Playstation can only manage in 30 FPS should not produce one.
Coil whining is completely normal, it can also be that one graphics card does not have it and the next one of the same model does.
It doesn't harm the hardware!
The Playstation has an apu, the thing only has a cooler in the whole case, or am I completely wrong now

I do not know where it comes from that the PS4 4k outputs - yes theoretically it can, purely practically the resolution is usually significantly lower - usually. Rather you see 1440p @ 30fps - 4k @ 60 you only see some indi games without great graphics.

The more fps the more likely it is.
However, this shouldn't actually happen, not at Playstation. The coil vibrates and makes a sound when it resonates with itself.
That is why as a manufacturer you actually select the spools, i.e. For the PS4 you should actually install spools whose natural frequency is higher and therefore no spool whistling occurs - that would be relatively easy with a PS4 since it only outputs 30 or 60fps. But the price has to come from somewhere.
If this happens to me with an expensive graphics card, I will have it exchanged - simply because that is not acceptable for the prices. At least in a normal range, with the PC I would say you shouldn't hear any mucks up to 300fps, everything else is junk.
Like the XBox One, the PS4 has an APU!

The part that is responsible for this in a PC is the GPU and the coils on its PCB. I wanted to offer that as a reference, of course there's no dedicated GPU built into the PS4, so practically the mainboard causes the coil whine, which would be very unusual on a PC!
