Apex legends crossplay / communication?

I play apex legends on the ps4 and would like to play with a friend who plays on the pc. I also wanted to ask if you can write with the team members at apex (ps4) as it is also possible on the pc

Apex legends will soon receive a crossplay update that was in the trailer at this EA event. And no there's no chat function on the ps4 yet.

So I did not find out what that does, but if you press the touchpad for a long time during the game, I can write something about whether it arrives or I don't know.
