Is that allowed to set up a chill-out corner in a company?

As an entrepreneur in the IT sector, I wanted to set up a chill-out corner in my office. Sometimes sitting on the couch with a colleague after work and playing a little FIFA on the PS4.

Possibly also build in a kind of loft bed, where you can watch a movie on a large, soft mattress with lots of pillows or move the FIFA game upstairs.

A kind of "hobby corner"

Is that allowed (in Austria)?

This is now standard at many companies. Now I don't see any reason why this shouldn't be allowed in Austria.

At that time you probably have the same Corona requirements as we do here in Germany. But otherwise, as an entrepreneur, it's your decision whether you want to provide your employees with a quiet and hobby corner.

Ask your employer

Why shouldn't it be allowed? I would find it a bit weird to mix private and work life so strongly.

I understood it to mean that he is the employer.

You have to ask your employer whether it is allowed.

In any case, there's no law against it. After all, this is already standard in many companies such as Google.

The employer has to agree.

You're right! 😊

Br

I'm the employer! ✌️

Br

Exactly! We currently have lockdown here, but hopefully the whole story won't take that long!

Thanks for your answer! I already thought it was allowed! 😊

Google is the prime example of this. But now other companies, including banks, are following suit. In the meantime you can find everything from billiards to table football rooms, or just a couch somewhere where you can sleep for an hour in between.

Perfect! Thank you for your extensive answer! Can everything be booked as business equipment in there as normal? (Playstation, games, television, etc.)

I think that shouldn't be a problem, should it?

That should work. Ask your tax advisor.
