I've read through a few answers here and realized that many of them are wrong. There's crossplay at dbd and also with Sony. I have a friend who plays on the Ps4, even though I play on the PC.
The first few days after the crossplay release, it didn't work at first, but it worked a few days ago.
Let your girlfriend look for your dbd name. That's how it worked for me and hopefully it will work for you too.
