My ps4 is about 3 years old and ran bissher cover free, but when I gambled yesterday for about 1 hour smelled it from the cooler behind the power supply to burned plastic. What can be that and what can I do about it?
I'm not an expert but sounds like it overheats for me? In contrast, you could get a separate cooler.
But I could be wrong too.
It was relatively cool, but the air was very hot.
"Overheated" that should not happen, there's thermal throttling and emergency shutdown
Turn off Ps4 and open the lid
Is quite simple are only 4 screws back where the HDMI cable is plugged etc.
Whether you find something or not, definitely clean the fan!
Go with a vacuum cleaner on the lowest level
I have cleaned the fan in my ps4 (day one edition) and renewed the thermal compound that took just under 2 hours because I wanted to have everything dust-free but that is 1. Very quiet and 2 comes back not so hot air but only warm
